Cognitive Shift in Attitude towards Nature: In reference to COVID 19 Pandemic

    Get PDF
Background: Mother Nature cares for every creature on this earth but in return we failed to show gratitude and care for our beloved Mother Nature. The Phenomenon: As a consequence our Mother Earth strikes back in the form of pandemic like COVID 19. Review of literature indicated that there is a significant change in the all over state of environment during this lockdown period.Origin of the Problem: This is a time for cognitive shift in our attitudes towards nature. We have to leave the former way of treating ourselves as the highest creature of God and the only eligible one to deserve the benefits of nature but we have to follow the rule of coexistences. We have to reconnect with our environment and protect the Mother Nature.Purpose: Present paper aims to critically evaluate the issues related to the shift in attitude towards nature during COVID 19 and suggesting psychological strategies for maintaining this changed attitude. Methodology: An online survey using Google form was done to record the change in attitude towards nature in COVID-19 pandemic. Results: Findings revealed that CORONA is challenging in many ways but it provides some positive lessons like Connect reconnect with nature, Own to our approach, Respect Mother Nature, Organized planning for nature concerns, New opportunity to revive nature, Assured healthy environment for future

Environment is a boon given to each and every living organism on the earth. Being with the nature is always a rich source of mental peace and wellbeing. Connectivity with the nature always gives a sense of being blessed by the Almighty God; it leads to enhance the sense of fully functioning self of the individual as well. Environmental Psychology is an interdisciplinary field which focuses on the application of interaction with environment on the mental, physical, social and spiritual wellbeing. Several research studies have indicated that involvement with natural surroundings is beneficial for the enhancement of overall wellbeing of the society in general and of individuals in particular. Nature is significantly important for the mental health as it helps to reduce the level of stress, irritation, anxiety, aggression, cardiovascular disease etc. The need of the hour is to encourage the health promoting lifestyle which ensures the interaction with the environment in the form of morning walks, meditation, mindfulness, yoga, breathing exercises, cycling, skipping, playing outdoor games etc

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant and hepatoprotective potential of Glycyrrhiza glabra hydromethanolic root extract against carbon tetra chloride (CCl4) induced oxidative-stress mediated hepatotoxicity in liver tissue of Swiss albino mice. Background: Medicinal plants play a vital role for the development of new drugs. Glycyrrhiza glabra is a widely used medicinal plant. It has many phyto-constituents and active components, which can be used for many diseases. Methods: For the antioxidant and hepatoprotective study, measurement of GSH, CAT, LPO bio-markers in Liver tissue of Swiss albino mice were taken. The animals were divided in six different groups each having 4 mice. The requisite dose of CCl4 was dissolved in appropriate solvent (1.5ml/kg body wt) and administrated as single i.p. dose per mice after 6 hr of last treatment of extract to the animals in each group. Mice were received orally administration of extract up to 7 days. Positive Control group received single i.p. injection of 1.5ml/kg body wt CCl4 in 0.9% saline. Results: The results suggest that, the crude extract of root of G. glabra at the doses of 300 and 600mg/kg body wt. expressed significant hepatoprotective potential against CCl4 induced oxidative stress mediated hepatotoxicity in student ‘t’ test (p<0.05) at dose dependent manner in the Liver tissue of Swiss albino mice. G. glabra root extract alone has not induced hepatotoxicity. Conclusion: Based on this study, It may be concluded that Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract possess hepatoprotective potential in Swiss albino mice.

An implementation of novel genetic based clustering algorithm for color image segmentation

The color image segmentation is one of most crucial application in image processing. It can apply to medical image segmentation for a brain tumor and skin cancer detection or color object detection on CCTV traffic video image segmentation and also for face recognition, fingerprint recognition etc. The color image segmentation has faced the problem of multidimensionality. The color image is considered in five-dimensional problems, three dimensions in color (RGB) and two dimensions in geometry (luminosity layer and chromaticity layer). In this paper the, L*a*b color space conversion has been used to reduce the one dimensional and geometrically it converts in the array hence the further one dimension has been reduced. The a*b space is clustered using genetic algorithm process, which minimizes the overall distance of the cluster, which is randomly placed at the start of the segmentation process. The segmentation results of this method give clear segments based on the different color and it can be applied to any application

Development of Postograph for the Healthcare Professionals in Selected Hospitals of Delhi

Postpartum is the time after birth, a time in which the mother’s body, including hormone levels and uterus size, returns to a non-pregnant state. The purpose of the study was to develop and evaluate postograph for the healthcare professionals. The study has been carried out in different phases: (1). Preliminary preparation of postograph, (2). Validation of postograph through modified Delphi technique, (3). Pilot study (n=20), to assess the feasibility of postograph and pre-test the scale for the language and sequence of items. After this phase, final try out of postograph (n=220), validity (content validity, face validity, construct validity) of postograph through exploratory factor analysis was done. For assessing quality and adequacy of postograph, reliability was done. For internal consistency, Cronbach alpha was used, for stability test retest (r=0.95) was done. Postograph consists of 51 items and it is divided into two domains. Content validity of the postograph was checked by calculating CVI (content validity index). The value of CVI was 0.98. Construct validity was done through exploratory factors analysis. Cronbach’s alpha was used for internal consistency; the overall Cronbach’s alpha of present scale is 0.98. Hence, a valid and reliable postograph is developed for the healthcare professionals to evaluate condition of mother and newborn during postnatal period

Region-based color image segmentation is elementary steps in image processing and computer vision. Color image segmentation is a region growing approach in which RGB color image is divided into the different cluster based on their pixel properties. The region-based color image segmentation has faced the problem of multidimensionality. The color image is considered in five-dimensional problems, in which three dimensions in color (RGB) and two dimensions in geometry (luminosity layer and chromaticity layer). In this paper, L*a*b color space conversion has been used to reduce the one dimension and geometrically it converts in the array hence the further one dimension has been reduced. This paper introduced an improved algorithm MMFO (Modified Moth Flame Optimization) Algorithm for RGB color image Segmentation which is based on bio-inspired techniques for color image segmentation. The simulation results of MMFO for region based color image segmentation are performed better as compared to PSO and GA, in terms of computation times for all the images. The experiment results of this method gives clear segments based on the different color and the different no. of clusters is used during the segmentation process
